When it comes to accessories, classic scarves and necklaces are both popular options that add a fashionable element to any outfit. Worn separately or together, these can act as focal points or be used simply to incorporate a fun accessory into your look.
Jenny Boston Boutique has a stylish collection of women’s boutique jewelry and scarves, and with all of our great options to choose from, you can create a look that’s perfect for you and that complements your own personal style. Whether you prefer a more classic, neutral look or tend to lean toward fun shapes and colors, there are so many interesting ways to wear a scarf--and maybe some you haven’t thought of yet!
Below, we’ve picked out a few pieces from our collection of jewelry and fashion scarves for women to show you all the different ideas on how--and where--to wear them. Read on to see our suggestions on styling scarves and necklaces for the most fashionable and up-to-date looks.
Try an Infinity Scarf
In our opinion, the best thing about infinity scarves is that they don’t require a YouTube tutorial to learn how to tie them; you simply put them over your head and voila--you’re good to go! Because the fabric is created as one closed loop, there’s no messing around with ends or fussing over which way to wear it. Seriously, they’re pretty much foolproof. What more could you ask for?
Opt for one in a solid color to keep things neutral and subdued, or amp up your outfit with a bright shade or pretty pattern, like with our Cuddle Up Plaid Infinity Scarf pictured here. Infinity scarves can be worn day or night as the focal point in your outfit and are easily dressed up or down. We suggest throwing one over a lightweight sweater for a casual but cute look that is perfect for the office or Sunday brunch, or pair it with a leather jacket and flowy blouse when you really want to impress on date night. They really are that versatile.
Go for a Looped Look
One of the most classic and popular ways to wear a scarf is by simply looping it around your neck, crossing it in the back, and pulling the ends back to the front, as shown here with our camel-and-ivory Perfectly Shaded Plaid Scarf. The fringe on each end creates a fun element and you can play around with how loosely or tightly you prefer to wear it on your neck. Great for a wintery daytime look, we would choose to wear this style with cozy fleece leggings, a sweater, and a peacoat for a casual yet sophisticated vibe, but it truly would look fabulous with any outfit.
Instead of a traditional, rectangular-shape like the one above, you can opt for a square-shaped blanket scarf. As seen here with our Life in Plaid Blanket Scarf, these types create a fuller look with more coverage, so they’ll really be the core element of your outfit. Simply fold it in half diagonally to create a triangle shape, drape it across your chest with the top point of the triangle facing down, cross each corner in the back around your neck, and then pull the corners back to the front so they hang down. This is a fashion-forward look that can be worn for any occasion and even dressed up with a sleek jacket. We would go with a fitted military jacket during the day, and a leather jacket for nighttime.
Pair Them Together
Another layered look we love is a scarf and a necklace worn at the same time, as shown here with our gorgeous navy Paisley Dreams Scarf and this long gold pendant. This creates a multi-dimensional focal point.
Try combining a scarf and necklace with just a basic t-shirt or tunic. When paired together, long or even medium-length necklaces and scarves go hand-in-hand because of their complementary materials, so it’s okay to keep everything else simple.
Layer Your Necklaces
One of our favorite ways to repurpose necklaces for a more unique look is to wear multiple styles together at the same time. We love layering pieces of different lengths, which creates a beautiful tiered look and makes a stylish statement. Mixing metals is another option--try wearing gold and silver together. You can even layer plain chain necklaces with ones that have charms or pendants to create some dimension. Try any of these methods out on top of both high-neck and low-cut blouses or sweaters--there’s no wrong way to do it!
We hope you’ll give these scarf and necklace ideas a try. Let us know in the comments how you would choose to style these versatile accessories!
